Washrooms at Joe's Oyster Bar

    Washrooms in Mexico
  • Washrooms in Mexico can sometimes be an adventure. The washrooms at Joe's are reasonable for Mexico.
  • The "golden" rule in Mexico for using toilets, is that IF THERE IS A WASTE BASKET NEXT TO THE TOILET, THEN PUT THE TOILET PAPER INTO THE WASTE BASKET. The sewer systems in Mexico are not that good and get clogged up with toilet paper. At Joe's Oyster Bar is no exception, you will need to put your toilet paper in the waste basket!

    Women's Washrooms
  • There are 2 womens washrooms at Joe's. The main one is located next to the telephones on your way in from the main street entrance. The 2nd womens washroom is located behind the volleyball court closer to the Los Sabalos hotel.
  • At night, there are washroom attendants that keep the washroom clean. Additionally, they have some candies, breath mints, and personal hygiene supplies for sale.
  • At night on weekends, unfortunately, there may be line ups to use the washrooms.
  • In Mexico, when there is a washroom attendant, it is customary to tip them a peso or two when you leave.

    Men's Washrooms
  • There is only 1 mens washrooms at Joe's. It is located under the main bar area. Take the stairs down from the main intersection of all the walkways in the centre of the bar.
  • At night, Enrique (Henry) is the washroom attendant. He keeps the washroom clean. Additionally, he has some candies, breath mints, and personal hygiene supplies for sale.
  • Prior to Enrique, Robero was the washroom attendant. He is now working across the street at Cowboys bar.
  • A few years ago, they remodelled the washroom. It is a lot better now with metal dividers between the urinals. However, the stalls are pretty small.
  • There is a colony of ants that live in the washroom. You can see them run along the ridge across the whole bathroom, just going back and forth. Quite a site! They are harmless.
  • During the day, the washroom can be a bit dirty and they frequently run out of paper towels.
  • Always wear your sandals or shoes when going to the washroom. There may be broken glass or other hazards on the floor.
  • In Mexico, when there is a washroom attendant, it is customary to tip them a peso or two when you leave.
