  • Added photos of the Airport, airport vans, and taxi/van prices to the Airports page.
  • Added photos to the Store page.
  • Just got back from Mazatlan. Have over 700 new photos and videos to put on the website. Also, have a lot of wild stories and the latest information about Joe's to put on the website.. This will take a little while to add to the website. Please check back regularly.

Joe's Oyster Bar - November 2007 Update
  • In the last couple of weeks, more American and Canadian tourists are starting to show up.
  • There are about 6 or 7 cruise ships per week showing up now. Some of the the people from the ships show up at Joe's for lunch. They usually leave about 4pm.
  • The roof (i.e. palapa) of Joe's was replaced in June and is in good shape.
  • Maintenance at Joe's is suffering a bit. The tiles under the bench seats in front of the beach are broken and dirty. The tables and benches could use a good cleaning and varnishing. Also, the bar area could use a good bleaching. Hopefully, if some people mention these things that they will fix and clean them up.
  • Friday and Saturday nights are getting busier now.
  • Sundays is a good day to go in the late afternoon and evening as many locals have the day off and Joe's is pretty busy.
  • Overall, even with the problems I mentioned above, Joe's is still the best bar in Mexico!

Mazatlán Update - November 2007 Update
  • The temperature is still relatively high, about 30-32 degrees celcius (about 90 degrees farenheit). It should start cooling off soon.
  • The beach is really low for November. It is about a 12ft drop off from the edge of Joe's. It is really noticable in front of the Las Flores hotel. They have lost a large section of beach. Not too many jelly fish around now. In June 2007, they were so bad. I was stung many times.
  • Condos are popping up everywhere. There is even one next to Las Flores which is about 30 storeys high. It appears that they will build another one right next door to it. It is a bit out of place in that part of the Golden Zone because of it's height. I feel sorry for the smaller existing condos next door. Down the malecon there are 5 or 6 condos going up. Instead of "timeshare", they are pushing "full ownership". I met a family from the US that came down and said that they bought a condo across from the Emporio hotel for US$70,000. Not sure if it is true or not. Las Flores has lots of construction going on. I am not sure what they are building.
  • As usual, restaurants and stores are always being built and torn down.
  • In October, they had the mayoral elections. There were 2 days where no alcohol were allowed to be sold. However, tourist restaurants and hotels on the beach did serve alcohol. I can't remember a time in Mazatlán where I couldn't buy a beer!
